Definition and frequent use of the thermometer
All we’ve ever used when we were sick, is to take our temperature, a son or a friend, we refer to the thermometer. Although many do not give importance to its implementation, the thermometer has helped us restore our health and control as well as other environmental conditions that may arise. But what is a thermometer? .
The thermometer is an instrument, as we said, used to measure the temperature, the most common presentation is that it has glass, this glass tube contains within it another small tube made of mercury, which dilates or expands according to the temperature changes measured. To determine the temperature measured, the thermometer has a carefully graduated scale which is strictly related to the volume occupied by the mercury in the tube. There are many ranges of thermometers, today we can find a presentation a little more modern digital type, but does not change the internal mechanism.
Temperature scales and special models
This device is commonly used to measure or take the temperature of an individual in the same way, the thermometer used to measure temperature environments and in animals, as well as some household appliances. With respect to the temperature it measures, the scale most commonly used worldwide is the Celsius , it measures the temperature in degrees Celsius and was given this name by its creator Andrew Celsius.
There are nonetheless used other scales but less so: Fahrenheit, Reaumur (now obsolete) and Kelvin , also known as absolute temperature, this type of scale is specifically used in laboratories, laboratory thermometers are usually made with two or more scales .
