Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD)Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) is a hereditary congenital disorder, involving degradation of the white matter in the brains (leukodystrophy) both in children and adults. Moreover, the most common peroxisomal disorder. In peroxisomal disorders, there is a change in the genetic material a disorder in the peroxisomes . Peroxisomes are small organs (organelles) in a cell, using enzymes – enzymes-guiding chemical reactions. ensure the degradation of waste. It is shown that by this method before the wounds heal and suffer less risk of infection. And it is particularly effective in wounds caused by amputation or open fractures.

Most hospitals have different equipment we apply this technique. But equipment is expensive and designed for a hospital. So the work developed in the new window MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) is revolutionary in the field of emergency medicine.

Exposure to electromagnetic fields alter heart function, according to a study. Many newborns, especially premature babies must spend time in the incubator, which maintain their body temperature and allows doctors to closely watched. Despite the proven benefits offered by these devices, a team from the Department of Pediatrics and Obstetrics, University of Siena (Italy), said that exposure of newborns to electromagnetic fields can affect heart rate and perhaps to have long-term effects.

So far only a hypothesis, but the authors suggest that further studies in depth to say if confirmed as true or, conversely, can not be demonstrated.

A Virtual Simulator to Teach Medical Students

The Faculty of Medicine and Odontology of the UPV has installed a virtual reality simulator that allows students to practice venipuncture, the needle into a vein to administer the patient to some kind of drug or treatment. The center of the UPV is the first in Spain to be endowed with a team of those characteristics.

Computer Game Treats Eye Disorders In Children
